How we met
That day changed everything
We met in Ms. Preston’s Chemistry class at Carver high school. It was Crystal’s senior year and Benito’s junior year. Crystal needed help understanding the lesson, so she tapped the boy in front of her to ask for his help. Benito grasped the chemistry lessons very easily and was overjoyed to help…and instantly smitten.
Our first date

How time flies
For fourteen years our love has flourished. We have grown together and have become a better version of ourselves for having each other in our lives. Within this time, we’ve bought our first home, Benito achieved his Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering, and Crystal achieved her Master’s in Counseling. (By the way, this is what took us so long)
How he proposed
Anniversary surprise
It was our 14th anniversary and he wanted to make it special, like he always does. We went to San Antonio to stay at the La Cantera Resort to relax and spend some quality time. Since we arrived, we were talking about how great and beautiful the place was. He made a reservation at a Brazilian steakhouse so once we arrived, we had to get ready for dinner. We just finished getting ready and as I was closing my suitcase, he said “This place is great, but you know what would make it even better?” to which I jokingly responded, “if they had Mickey?” (silence) “or goofy?”. As I was zipping the suitcase, I felt him tug my shirt so I turned around and there he was on one knee saying, “if you were my fiancée”.
